My landscapes are inspired by my fascination with horizons and the intense feeling of what may lie beyond. This equally applies to seascapes, and in particular, to Australia — its vast terrain, unique character, and vibrant colours. Australia has a palette like no other place, from the burnt red ochre of the outback to the muted yellow ochre and greens of its coastal fringes. These hues have left a permanent mark in my mind. I often sketch these landscapes from the air while travelling, capturing the abstract patterns and merging forms that unfold from above. There is a certain rhythm, movement, and energy that I translate into paint, layered textures, and unexpected colour combinations in each work. I aim to create that sense of expansiveness, inviting viewers to experience the awe of these breathtaking vistas and their untamed beauty.
